Thank you for choosing to attend South Arkansas Community College. You made a wise decision. We have smaller class sizes and excellent faculty that are dedicated to student learning and your success. We have a friendly and caring staff that helps to create a positive learning environment. We have current technology, tutorial laboratories, learning resources, and support services to assist you. We provide the best educational value in the region, offering specialized and accredited programs taught by highly qualified and innovative faculty.
SouthArk is one of 22 community colleges in the State of Arkansas. The SouthArk campuses have a rich history of providing educational opportunities to the citizens of Union County for many generations. As our mission states, we are “… a cultural, intellectual, and economic resource for the community.” We are dedicated to making affordable, quality higher education and workforce training accessible to our citizens. We embrace the traditional role of community colleges to serve as an open admissions college, preparing students for four-year university transfer, associate degree and certificate occupational and workforce development programs, as well as providing non-credit programs for lifelong learning, enjoyment and enrichment, or retraining.
This is a very special time in your life journey. We know you will find your educational experiences at SouthArk to be very rewarding. To be successful you need to set goals for your career and be engaged. Determine your academic goals. Become involved in student organizations and activities. Seek out the assistance of your instructors or the student support staff. Participate in class discussions and outside study groups. The SouthArk faculty and staff are here to help you achieve your educational goals and dreams. I wish you much success!
Sincerely,
Barbara R. Jones, Ph.D.
